MICAELA ARCHER-SHEE ARAD RAD RT T.CERT:

Micaela Archer-Shee,  began her serious ballet training with Nora Oakey at Scotia Ballet and at Halifax Dance. Supported by Nova Scotia Talent Trust awards and outside scholarships, she regularly attended summer sessions at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Banff Centre for the Arts. She graduated from Ecole Superieure de Danse du Quebec, took a post -graduate year at RWB and was a member of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. In 1994, Micaela opened Coastal Dance with the support of her mentor, Nora Oakey. Micaela holds the Russian Society Advanced and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Advanced 2 Certificates, as well as the RAD Teaching Certificate. She has continued to study dance in Germany, the U.S.A. and Canada. Recipient of a Canada Council “Emerging Artist” grant, Micaela founded the not for profit youth performing company, Coastal Dance Theatre (Society) which she directs. Micaela is committed to teaching and presenting accessible dance of high technical values and to fostering the sheer love of dance in her students.
