2011 Faculty Micaela Archer-Shee Owner /Director: Coastal Dance is a school which focuses on classical and contemporary dance and boasts many students at leading dance programs across North America such as the National Ballet School of Canada, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Alberta Ballet school, Alvin Ailey dance Program & Juilliard to name only a few. Micaela trained professionally at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, the Banff Centre and is a graduate from École Supérieure de Danse du Québec. Performed professionally with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Les Jeune Ballets de Quebec. She holds her RAD and Russian Advanced 2 certificates. She was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance (ARAD) in 2000. A recipient of several Nova Scotia Talent Trust Awards, The Banff Centre Dance Scholarship, the 1991 MT&T New Choreographers award and Canada Council Emerging Artist grant as well as Nova Scotia Arts Council grants. Diana Rutherford Hon. BFA, TTP-Dip (NBS), AISTD (CF) (NF).: A Graduate of the National Ballet School Teacher Training Program and of York University, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honours in Dance. She is a registered Teacher of Classical Ballet and holds her Associate Certificate with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in both Cecchetti Ballet and National Dance. She is also accredited with her Advanced Certificate with the Royal Academy of Dance. Georgia Skinner: Georgia has trained at Coastal Dance since 1995 under the direction of Micaela Archer-Shee. Georgia holds her RAD Advanced 1 certificate and has continued to professionally train in such schools as Sundance program, the Alvin Ailey school in NY and Toronto Dance Theatre. In the Fall of 2011 she will continue her post High school training at the School of Toronto Dance Theatre.
